Where To Bike Next? | Mt. Barundon (420+) Porac, Pampanga

Reading Time: 5 minutes

My eyes went on a frenzy as the panoramic view of the Cabusilan Mountain Range welcomed me from the top of Mt. Barundon in Porac, Pampanga.
Cliché as it is to say a view took your breath away, seeing mountains of this scale is the real deal after months of being restricted to move.

Camias Resettlement Area

Turning left along the Porac-Floridablanca-Dinalupihan Road led us into the interiors of Brgy. Planas. Then after a few hundred meters you will pass by the SCTEX underpass where the dirt road starts with a starting elevation of 30 meters above sea level.

Kidding you not, the real fun starts as soon as you pass SCTEX. From here, the 7.3km stretch of gradually ascending road will lead you to Brgy. Camias which sits at around 390 meters above sea level. Enough of the storytelling and here’s our photos going to Camias Resettlement Area. *zooms

But Wait, There’s More!

Whenever the province of Pampanga comes to mind, there’s Mt. Arayat, the lahar plains, the giant lanterns and the mouthwatering Sisig – but there’s still much to see just around the bend. As the popular adage goes: “But wait, there’s more!”.

Budol! I told myself as I tried to catch my breath upon arrival at Camias Elementary School. Then a few flights of stairs and a 10 minute hike will lead you to Mt. Barundon’s viewdeck.

Imagine staring at an expansive mountain range that cradles the infamous Pinatubo Volcano. This grand mountain view is definitely humbling as it makes people shrink as compared with their imposing peaks.

At around 420 meters above sea level, the mountains of Cabusilan Range will amaze you. One can even see from up there the famous Palakol River in Floridablanca.
