Batong Palaka in DRT, Bulacan | Where To Bike Next?

Reading Time: 4 minutes

Towering over a hundred meters tall, is the Batong Palaka of Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan. This limestone karst resembles that of Mts. Pamitinan, Binicayan and Hapunang Banoi in Rizal, but on a smaller scale.

Kuchiyose No Jutsu!

Halfway through the forested ascent, you will be greeted by a steep boulder with tree roots as support. Some parts has alternating sections of sharp rocks then segments with thorny branches and muddy footholds. Wearing gloves is advised.

At the top of Batong Palaka, one will be rewarded with a stunning 360 degree view. First thing I’ve noticed is the rice fields of Sitio Silid which looks good from a bird’s eye view.

Then to the northeast is the distant Mt. Arayat, looming faintly over the vast farmlands of Pampanga. To the west are the vast swath of the Sierra Madre Mountains, which thankfully, are still green if you’ll ask me.

Standing on top of the rock formation is a real treat. Moreover, it is as if you summoned the stone versions of Gamabunta and Gamakichi, the toads of Mount MyōbokuKUCHIYOSE NO JUTSU!
