BASILAN: Masjid Mabarakat
Mabarakat Mosque, or commonly called as Masjid Jamid is probably the most beautiful mosque in Basilan province next to Masjid Geras.
Masjid
Located inside Mabarakat Village in Aguada Barangay of Isabela City, this is one of the mosques in Basilan that you should definitely visit.

After visiting Bulingan Falls, we took the scenic drive going to Aguada Barangay in Isabela City. Of course, we stopped by this mosque and spent a few minutes before leaving for the rubber plantations of Menzi.
A newly constructed mosque that started early June of 2017, the Masjid Mabarakat has two 22.9 meters tall Minarets. Furthermore, the small balcony near the top called as Adhan (where speakers are installed to call the daily prayers) measures around 2.6 meters tall.

This mosque has three onion shaped domes. Moreover, the main dome measures 6.68 meters tall. Also, this dome covers the prayer hall, while the two secondary domes measures 2.50 meters.

To visit this mosque, coordinate first with the Provincial Tourism Office of Basilan or the Isabela Tourism Office.
Braving Basilan: This adventure series narrates what transpired during my day trip across the island of Basilan, as I set foot on my 55th province last August 20, 2018. The road not taken and an eluded paradise – this has been once home to a terrorist group and historically also the staging ground for Moro Raids in Zamboanga.
Giving it the notoriety as one the most dangerous provinces in the Philippines in the past. Follow me as I show you the other side of the beautiful province of Basilan!
