As it is slowly opened to motorists this 2021, I visited this now iconic orange-painted Clark-Tarlac bridge on this bike ride.

Clark: “It Works. Like A Dream”

From San Simon, Pampanga, I went on a weekly bike ride to Clark Freeport Zone to check-out this new bridge. Entering the bike lane at the Clark Friendship Gate, I pedaled along the M.A. Roxas Highway then turned right at the Claro M. Recto Highway.

What makes biking inside Clark a rewarding adventure is the number of attractions one will see along the way. To add, there’s the freshly painted bike lanes, large tree canopies, safety signages for bikers and a lot more. Thanks, CDC!

After biking here for a year, I sometimes wish to live in here because of the open spaces, better well being of the residents and the working opportunities. As Clark’s tagline suggests: “It Works. Like A Dream.”

Then as I passed by the Clark International Airport, I took a right at Gil Puyat Ave then left approaching the Rotunda of Panday Pira Ave.

Then Google Maps might confuse you, but the Old Sacobia Bridge is the one pinned now on the Map as you cruise along Prince Balagtas Ave.

Connecting the Past, Present, and the Future

You will reach the New Sacobia Bridge if you continue further until the last small rotunda before the SCTEX Toll Gate.

The steel bridge measures 894 meters long and 29.5 meters wide. It has a total of six lanes in its main carriageway with two bike lanes and sidewalks.

The uniquely designed bridge runs across the Sacobia River in Bamban, Tarlac in Central Luzon. The curves are akin to the mountain ranges of the Cabusilan Mountain Range, the same concept with the new airport terminal.

As of today, the New Sacobia Bridge, connects the past, present and the future of Pampanga. Moreover, this cuts the travel time to 15 mins between the historic Clark Freeport Zone and its new districts including the New Clark International Airport.
